Well I'm messing up my alternating naration to have Donna start this
one too; she's just a bit nervous and has some stuff to get off her
chest before she goes into work.
She could sure use Eddie's help here.... lol.
Also, for those of you keeping track, this has gone pretty AU ;-)

My alarm goes off way too early, as I roll over to hit snooze, I hear
a crinkly noise.
What the hell?
I roll back to my original position and look over -- great, I just
smashed the rest of the pretzels.
I might have needed those tonight.
That's right, last night I ate almost a whole bag of snacks, talked
to Josh on the phone, then hung up and.... did that. I really
think the best part of that plan was the way I insinuated to Josh
that that's exactly what I'd be doing when I got off the phone
with him...right, that I'd be 'getting off'.
That was nice. That was a little play on words.
At least I'm relatively sure he did the same thing.
So, what do you wear to work the morning after you practically have
phone sex with your boss?
Okay, after just thinking that out loud I need to sit down -- I back
up and sink down on the end of the bed. Okay, let's try that
again, so, what do you wear to work the morning after you practically
have phone sex with Josh?
Hmmm... okay, that one's better. I think that one might work for me
because I don't feel quite as anxious as when I used the "b"
word.
I get up again and start looking through my closet, absentmindedly
pulling stuff out and fingering the fabric while I contemplate
my situation.
But still, Josh. I look down at the red, clingy dress in my hand --
okay, that won't work.
Josh and me -- doing naked things. We could forseeably be doing naked
things, with you know, eachother's naked bodies in the near future.
Okay, I'll just sit down again.
Here's the thing. I've certainly thought about it before. I've been
tempted before. I think he's even been tempted too but we've
never...for some reason the other night we followed through. I'm not
sure what made that time different, perhaps it was the
Hershey's Kisses.
I take a deep breath and look in the mirror.
I'm in love with my boss and I think he feels the same about me. The
problem, besides the obvious one, is that we're both pretty
clueless about this love thing.
So, we're taking it slow.
That's good, I really don't want to be stupid about this, plus I'm
kind of curious about something. Last night on the machine he
mentioned wooing.
Josh does not know how to woo, his wooing skills, were they not
absolutely adorable, would be very sad.
And I am completely smitten with adorable Josh.
After 20 minutes of staring into my closet, I finally decide on a
silky white shirt and a short black skirt. Well, it's just barely
above my knees, it is the White House after all, I can't exactly show
up in a mini-skirt or anything.
I just need to stop thinking about last night so I can try to be
somewhat useful at work today. My stomach is fluttering and I feel
that excited, nervous rush that you get when you can't wait to see
someone.
I hope this is the right thing to be doing, if the wrong people found
out about this it could be really damaging. We'll just need to
be careful.
Yeah, we'll be careful. Sam knows something's up but he doesn't know
about last night.
Now, if I could just stop the fluttering. It's just another day, I
tell myself. It's just Josh, he's my boss but he's *Josh*. Besides,
I was promised another kiss today; that thought makes me smile as I
walk out to my car.
Maybe I'll even get a coffee mug.

"Donna," I look up as he saunters in, Starbucks cup in his hand, as I
try to read his mood.
He's got his happy swagger and is wearing a dark suit; he looks
really, really good -- I think my knees are shaking.
This could be really distracting.
"Donnatella," he starts again, "come tell me what I'm doing today,"
smiling warmly, he walks past my desk.
I follow him in and sit down, opening to today's schedule.
"Well, you have," I stop to watch him take the lid off the coffee
and put it down in the middle of his desk, "what?"
"It's too hot, I'm letting it cool off," he replies.
"Okay."
Damn foreshadowing.
"We can share while you do the schedule thing."
I look at him as I feel the corners of my mouth turn up, "Okay."
"Staff in ten minutes, 11:00 the Ways and Means Committee thing, Leo
wants some time this afternoon, and the deputy meeting at 2:00," I
pause, "that's all I have right now."
He gives me a sheepish grin, "Wasn't I supposed to do something else
today," then takes a sip of coffee and hands it to me.
"Hmmm, I'm not sure," I say slowly before I swallow.
"I think I was," he insists.
"Hmmm...can you give me a little bit more?"
"You want more?" he smirks.
I smile and rest my chin on my hand as I gaze at him across the desk.
"Oh, I think I know what you're talking about now," I whisper, before
reaching for more coffee.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"What time is that then?"
"You want it on the schedule?" I try not to laugh and snort coffee
out through my nose.
"That's kind of weird, huh?" He asks, leaning across the desk to
touch my hand.
"Maybe, but I guess it would be practical," I agree, giving his
fingers a squeeze.
"Nah, let's not, let's wing it."
"Okay," I can't help but feel a shy blush creep up my face.
"Okay, I'm gonna go start wandering to staff.." he takes another sip
of coffee and hands me the cup, "you want to finish this?"
"Thanks."
He leans in very close to my face and whispers "You're welcome,"
in a soft voice.
For a second I anticipate his lips against my cheek but he doesn't,
he just holds his head close to mine for a brief moment. I
swear I think he smells my hair.
And then he's gone.

"Sam!" I bellow into his office as I close the door shut behind me,
"just the man I'm looking for.."
"You're looking for a man?"
"Okay, shut up.." I say as I plop down in a chair.
"Because I thought there was that thing with Donna.."
"Okay, again, shut up," I pause, "which, oh yeah, reminds me why I'm
here."
"Yes?"
"Ms. Mix-A-Lot?"
Sam starts to laugh, "that was kind of funny...did she get pissed
about that?"
"Yeah, at me."
"Oh, sorry about that, buddy."
"Yeah, so, here's the thing. I'm thinking that starting a
relationship with your assistant is probably something you want to
do under the radar, so maybe you could..." I raise my voice in mock
yelling, "shut the hell up?!"
"I'm starting a relationship with Cathy?" he asks.
"Sam, I'm serious here."
"It was just Donna..I didn't tell anyone who didn't already know.."
"Right, except, she got mad at me and.."
"Yeah, okay, I see your point," he agrees as he shifts in his chair,
he's been moving around a lot like he's nervous. It reminds me
of a spider monkey I saw at the zoo once.
"Okay," I sigh, as I lean back, "we have staff soon."
"Yeah. You should talk to CJ."
"What?"
"CJ, you know, tall, attractive woman, runs around a lot chasing
after things.."
"Yeah, I am familiar with this CJ person, I'm just not sure why
you.."
"About the thing.."
I stare at him, "What thing?"
"The thing you don't want me to talk about."
"Are you insane?"
"You realize your voice got.."
"Yes," I cut him off, "why should I go see CJ about the thing?"
"Because she should know, maybe she could help you. You know, if
it's one thing I learned from the whole Laurie thing, it's that
CJ.."
"Yes, I agree if CJ kills me I won't have a problem here, but I'm
not really sure I want that kind of help..."
"No, that might be a little extreme...just talk to CJ," he says with
a smile, then adds, "she's your first phone call you know."
What?
"Okay, what's going.." I start.
Toby barges in the office to gruffly say, "Hey, Dumb and Dumber,
we're trying to have a meeting and for some odd reason, the
President doesn't want to start until you two are there," before he
continues back down the hallway.

Staff runs long but I manage to pay attention through most of it.
There were a few instances of replaying last night's phone
conversation in my head but for the most part I was all there.
At least for the first hour.
"Josh?"
I turn in the direction of the voice.
"Is that okay with you?" Leo asks.
"Umm, yeah sure, you bet."
Sam kicks me a few minutes later and shrugs his head towards CJ
with a nod.
I can't for the life of me figure out what he's trying to accomplish.
If CJ knew what I was thinking about Donna she would kill
me, probably in some really evil, feminista way.
I glance over at her and CJ smiles at me and it's not a pleasant
smile.
It's the kind of knowing smile you give someone before you eviscerate
them -- the smile that clues them into the impending
evisceration.
Donna likes to watch the Discovery Channel, she usually makes me
change the channel before the elk winds up with its
intestines strewn about the ground, but a few times I haven't been
quick enough.
My mouth drops as it all slips into place.
CJ got to him and Sam must have spilled, he told her about the
ass-grabbing and Donna -- that's why he was telling me to go
see her. That's why she's smiling at me like that...with her
teeth all showing.
Oh shit.
I'm the elk.

It's around 12:30 before Josh comes back to his office from the Ways
and Means thing.
Surprisingly, I've actually been able to do some work.
After getting back from the mess, I ran into CJ after Senior Staff.
We ended up having an interesting discussion in her office,
while she fed me chocolate and completely blew my mind.
Practically a whole year.
It could have been a whole year of...
There was something about the sisterhood and payback but I kind of
zoned out after she told me the other thing. Before I left, I
did agree to her plan though. It's the least I can do for telling me
about...the other thing.
"Donna." He rushes past me in a blur and disappears into his office.
"Josh," I get up and follow behind him.
It's show time.
"Yeah?" He asks as he starts to pace around his office.
"CJ called."
He stops and gets a weird look on his face. God, he's just so cute, I
feel kind of bad about doing this. But, I did say I was going
to punish him and if I remember correctly he seemed interested in
that, so, I can justify this.
Granted, I doubt this is what he was envisioning.
"What did she want?"
"She didn't say, she wants to see you..right away," I use a worried
tone that I know will freak him out even more.
"O-okay."
"Joshua, what did you do?" I ask, letting panic start to creep into
my voice.
"What? Nothing, nothing, I..." he stops and sighs, staring at me,
"Donna, close the door."
"Okay," I say softly as I walk over and close the door behind me. I
stifle a chuckle as I walk over to my desk.
A second later my phone rings.
"Yeah?"
"Donnaaaaa.." comes a familiar whine.
"Oh, was I supposed to be on the inside?"
A sigh and then, "yes."
"Okay, just a sec.." I hang up and go back inside.
"Yes, what..."
I have no time to finish my words because Josh is kissing me.
This is nicer than the first time because we're face to face.
Before, it was just our heads that were turned but this time, I'm
pressed up against him, toe-to-toe, and his arms are around my
waist, holding me to him. I can feel all the nuances and details of
his body as I start to rub against him. His tongue meets mine
and I feel him moan against my lips.
For a moment I forget all about CJ and work and where we are and
just concentrate on the feel of Josh's body pressing against
mine. All of his body pressing into me.
He backs us up until my upper thighs hit the front of his desk
and I'm sitting back, spreading my legs a bit so he can move in
between my knees as he drops his mouth down.
"Josh.." I moan, as his hand starts to slide up my leg.
He momentarily removes his lips from where he was gently sucking and
kissing my neck, to pull back and look at me.
"Josh..?" I start again.
"I'm sorry, that was a little more than..."
"No, it's okay, really, but..."
"Donna, I have to go see CJ and I'm not sure I'm coming back," he
says seriously.
"Josh, what did you do?" I ask again, in a quiet voice; I almost feel
bad for him.
Almost.
Besides, a little torture will be good for him and then
tonight...well, let's just say tonight is looking a whole lot
different than it was this morning.
I put my hands on his chest and push him back a little so I can ease
off the desk. He watches as I pull my skirt down a little.
"I'm not sure," he says carefully, once I'm standing in front of him.
"She didn't sound too mad," I say in a tone that implies I'm lying.
"Really?" He asks hopefully.
"Well, no, she sounded mad, but it could have been something that
had nothing to do with you."
"Yeah," he agrees, not sounding very convinced, "I should go."
"Okay."
He's not moving.
"Josh?"
"Yeah, I'm going, I just", he looks down shyly, "I need to wait a
minute here now."
"What?" I follow his gaze to..
Oh.
"Umm, yeah, I think you should give that a minute or two," I say,
looking down at the front of his pants.
"Donna, you're not helping...you're staring."
"Is there anything I can do?" I ask, starting to giggle.
"Oh, I think you've done enough," he says, with a pained expression.
"Should I leave?"
"I think you better."
"What do you think about to make it go down?"
"Donna!"
"I'm just curious," I pause, as I feel my eyes widen, "wait, you're
not going to.."
"Donna! No!"
"Okay, I didn't think so, I was just wondering..." I start to walk
towards the door, "so how do you..?"
"I'm thinking about the 2002 budget."
"Oh.."
"Donna?"
"Yeah?"
"Leave...now."
"Okay," I close the door behind me and make it to my desk before I
bury my head in my hands and laugh.
A few minutes later the door opens and he walks past me.
"Josh," I start to call out.
"Don't talk," he says over his shoulder, "just don't say anything."
When he's a safe distance away from me, I pick up my phone and dial.
"Yeah, he's on his way. CJ, I...be nice..."
"Okay, yes, I know, it's just, okay, okay, have your fun, but I want
him back in one piece.."
I really will have to think up a way to make this up to him.
