Josiah Bartlet stared at the young girl standing in his doorway. He rose from
his seat and walked around his desk. Standing in front of the girl, he stuck
out his hand, "My name's Josiah Bartlet, I'm the President of the United
States."

She smiled at him and put her hand in his, "I'm pleased to meet you, Mr.
President. My name's Stephanie Blake, I'm in the twelfth grade."

Jed grinned at her, "The twelfth grade, and only sixteen years old. How did
you manage that?"

Stevie smiled back at him, "I've had a lot of, private education."

"I can imagine..." Jed rested his hand on her shoulder. "Would you like to
sit down?"

Stevie nodded, "Yes sir."

Jed led her around to the couch and sat down beside her, "What do you think
of Washington so far?"

Stevie made an uncertain face, "I don't know yet. When we were driving here
from the airport I saw some really cool stuff. Donna pointed out the
Washington Monument and Abraham Lincoln's statue, and some museums, and..."
she trailed off when she noticed Jed smiling softly at her. "I'm sorry... I
guess I kinda got carried away, sir."

Jed shook his head, "There's nothing to be sorry about. It's perfectly fine
that you're excited. As a matter of fact, I was hoping that you'd have some
interest in those places, because I've arranged for you to have personal
tours through most of those places."

"Really?" Stevie asked, her eyes lighting up.

"Really." Jed said as the door to his office opened. He looked up and his
eyes danced.

Stevie looked around and found herself face to face with the First Lady,
Abigail Bartlet.

Abbey Bartlet smiled at the girl, knowing full well who she was. Her eyebrow
quirked up, "Well, well, well, I come home after being gone for three weeks
and what do you do, Jed? You go and find another beautiful girl to take my
place!"

Stevie blushed, equally from the compliment and from the joke Abbey Bartlet
was playing on both her and her husband.

Jed, for his part, played right along, "I always was a sucker for
intelligent, beautiful girls." He broke the joke as he rose and walked around
to his wife. "Hello Darling."

Abbey put a hand on his chest, greeting him silently, and then turned her
attention to Stevie. Abbey put her hand out, "Hello, I'm Abigail Bartlet."

"I'm Stephanie Blake and I'm pleased to meet you Mrs. Bartlet." Stevie said,
shaking the woman's hand.

Abbey waved her hand, "Please call me Abbey."

Stevie smiled, "Okay, I'm Stevie."

Jed clapped his hands, "I just had a wonderful idea! Stevie, how would you
like a personal tour of the entire White House with the President and First
Lady as your tour guides?"

Stevie grinned, "I'd like that a lot!"

"Then let's get going! We've got a lot of ground to cover!" Jed said as he
ushered the two out of the Oval Office, "Incidentally Stevie, did you know
that President Andrew Jackson kept a large block of cheese in the main foyer
of his White House...."
