The President watched as the Vice President announced that he was acting
President. There were brief shouting of questions before the VP ended the
briefing.

"I want Leo, Sam, Toby," the President ordered.

"Not here Jed. Zoey needs the rest," FLOTUS said.

"Right. Keep me informed on how she does," POTUS said as he followed CJ to
another room where Leo and the staff were waiting.

"What do we do?" the President asked.

"We can send out own statement stating that you are not disabled. You then
assume the duties unless the VP and the others say that you are still
disabled. They must do that within 4 days," Josh said reading his copy of
the Constitution.

"Congress since they are in session must assemble within 48 hours and has
21 days to decide the issue. Congress must vote a 2/3 majority in order to
deny you the office," Leo says.

"But until Congress votes the Vice President remains acting President," Sam
said.

The President scanned his aides.

"Lets send the document and see what the VP does," the President ordered.

"We do need to consider the issue of whether or not you really are able to
discharge the duties of the office," Josh said.

"WHAT!" Leo said angry.

"What if it was your daughter that was shot. Wouldn't you take some time
off? That is what the 25th amendment was intended for," Josh said.

"What do you suggest Josh?" the President asked.

"Let em first say that I don't agree with the VP's decision. I think that
we should meet him and make a decision on what to do," Josh suggested.

"I will meet with him. But I want my statement to be sent. I want it to
state that I am able to discharge the powers and duties of my office. And
all of you find some reports and state that I believe that section 4 of the
25th doesn't apply to this situation. And that I have asked to meet with
the Vice President to correct any misunderstandings he has about my state.
I want to give him a face-saving way out of this," POTUS orderded.

"Yes, Mr. President," the staff said at once and left.

The President walked back into Zoey's room. As soon as he arrived he heard a
voice.

"Where am I?" Zoey said in a weak voice.
