The Presidential Limo pulled into the White House and was met by several
well armed secret service agents. They dragged the President back into the
White House and he was taken to the situation room where several aides
were waiting for him.

"I have to get to the hospital ad find out about Zoey." President Bartlet said

The head Secret Service agent faced the President

"It is to dangerous for you to travel. Andrews Air Force base is arranging
to send Marine One over here and we will take you over. But not until the
situation is secure," the agent reported.

Bartlet turned to Leo who silently told him that the agent was right.

"What do you know right now?" Leo asked.

"Right now we had 5 shots fired and we know that two people were hit. The
first person was Major Cannon who was killed," the Secret Agent added.

"If he was killed then where is the football?" Sam asked, interrupting the
report by the Secret Service.

Donna came into the room and put the briefcase on the desk. Everyone in the
room looked at her.

"Josh and I noticed the briefcase and I brought it here before it was taken
by the FBI. Josh is taking Charlie to the hospital." Donna said.

Bartlet looked at Donna.

"How is Zoey?" Bartlet asked as a father not as the President.

Donna looked at the President.

"Zoey was awake and talking to Charlie. And she was getting medical
attention," Donna saying. She didn't want to tell the President the full
truth.

CJ looked at everyone.

"The Press is waiting for a statement," CJ asked.

"Any suggestions CJ?" Leo asked.

"I would tell them everything. That Zoey has been wounded and is on her way
to the hospital and announce the death of Major Cannon," CJ suggested
causing the President to become angry.

"SHE IS MY DAUGHTER. I WILL NOT HAVE THIS BECOME A MEDIA EVENT," the
President said.

"It already is Mr. President. Presidents don't get shot at every day and
this is the first time that a Presidential child has been injured in the
attack. And for better or worse Zoey is a public figure," CJ said.

"Confirm that she has been wounded and that further details will come from
the hospital after consolations with the family," a press aide suggested.

"Do it." Leo ordered.

CJ turned to her aide.

"Announce that there will be a statement in 5 minutes." CJ ordered.

The aide moved toward the press room. CJ got up and hugged Bartlet.

"I am sorry about Zoey." CJ said as she left.

Everyone heard the noise of Marine One landing.

"We're ready to go Mr. President" the Secret Service agent announced.

The President left for the helicopter followed by Leo and the others. Marine
One takes off toward the hospital


VICE PRESIDENTS RESIDENCE.


The Vice President was watching the coverage of the attempt on CNN. An aide
came in.

"Everyone is waiting for you Mr. Vice President." The aide announced.

The Vice President went into the dinning room and saw a group of people
waiting for him. He sat down at the head of the table.

"Thank you all for coming. This meeting of the 25th Committee will come to
order.
