The scene outside the hotel was complete craziness. Everyone was in a state
of panic over the gunshots that were fired at the President. The TV
cameras and reporters were focused on the departing Presidential limo and
the reporters were getting ready for the live newscasts.

Josh was helped up by Donna. As they got up he stared at her. Donna noticed
the staring.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"I just wanted to be sure that you are all right." he asked.

"I am fine Josh," Donna said.

She was shocked when Josh suddenly hugged her.

"I am glad. I don't know what I would have done if something had happened to
you."

Very near Josh and Donna, Charlie was on the ground. As soon as it was safe
for him he got up and looked around. He quickly found Zoey lying on the
ground. He ran toward her.

"ZOEY!!!" Charlie screamed as he ran toward her.

When he arrived he turned her on to her back and he saw the blood on her
blouse.

"NO!" he screamed. Charlie checked and found a pulse and that she was
breathing. Charlie found the wound which was in her chest and he knew that
it was in a terrible place. He put his hands on her wound in order to keep
pressure on it.

Zoey opened her eyes. Charlie could see that she was in pain.

"Ch.....Charlie. I...is that you?" She asked in a very weak voice that
Charlie barely heard.

"Its me Zoey. Don't talk." Charlie said.

"It...it hurts Charlie. Am I going to die?" Zoey asked.

Charlie looked at her beautiful face. He saw the blood on her mouth and he
knew that her lung was hit.

"No. Your going to get help and will be OK. Just hold on Zoey. I need you,"
Charlie said. He didn't want to face the fact that Zoey's wound was serious
and that she could be dying.

The paramedics arrived and began to work on Zoey.

"Don't leave me Charlie. I love you." Zoey said.

"I will stay with you," Charlie said holding on to her hand. He felt her
hand growing weak and felt no pulse in her hand.

The paramedics cut open her blouse and started CPR on her. They moved her
to a helicopter that was landing on the street. It took off. Charlie just
watched the scene. He had lost his mother to an act of violence and now it
was happening again.

Josh and Donna were watching the scene with total sadness. Josh put his
arms around her.

"She will be OK. We will take Charlie to the hospital." Josh said.

As they waked toward Charlie, Donna noticed a black man lying dead with a
briefcase near him.

"JOSH," Donna called.

They both moved toward the dead man.

"That's the President's military aide Johnny." Josh said. He looked at the
briefcase. "My God," Josh said realizing what it is.

"What's wrong?" Donna asked.

"That's the football," Josh realized.

"'The Football?'" Donna asked.

"Yes, it has all the codes and plans in it, " Josh picks it up and hands it
to Donna. "Bring it back to the President. I am going to take Charlie to
the hospital. And be careful."

Josh surprises Donna by kissing her. He led Donna to a car and she drove
toward the White House while Josh came up to Charlie.

"I will take you over to the hospital," Josh said. Josh and Charlie got
into a car and they took off toward the hospital to find out about Zoey.
