The 25th Part 11

Vice President's Mansion

The Vice President was watching MSNBC along with his aides. They watched
the President making his statement. Afterwards the doctors began there
briefing. The VP lowered the volume and turned to his aide.

"Any thoughts?" he asked his Chief of Staff

"He did very well. Showed no evidence of any disability," the aide said
honestly.

"It was very smart, showing the American people that he was able to perform
his duties," the VP said.

"Yes sir," another aide said.

"What are you going to do next Sir?" the aide asked.

"What happens after the President sends his statement?" the VP asked his
Counsel.

"Once the President sends his statement he resumes the office unless you
and the cabinet send a statement within 4 days stating that the President
is still disabled. Once the second statement is sent Congress must meet
within 48 hours to decide the issue and has 21 days to decide the issue.
And a two-thirds vote is required to keep you President," the Counsel reported.

"But until the issue is decided you do remain President," an aide added.

"Any thoughts on what I should do?" the VP asked his staff.

"The President gave you an opening. He did day that he understood the
action when his daughter was fighting for her life," the VP was told.

"And now that she will be fine I can say that the disability no longer
exists," the VP said.

"Yes sir," the Chief of Staff said. "But if you continue this," the CoS added.

"I will be accused of trying to overthrow the President," the VP said.

"Yes sir. And the President's approval rating will grow. If the American
people sense that you are trying to take advantage," a press aide said.

"They will turn on me. I know that I will not be picked for another term,"
the VP said.

"The best thing is to end this," an aide suggested.

"Lets do it," the VP said.

"Yes Mr. Vice President," the press aide said.

The aides got up and went to work.
