After leaving Zoey and Charlie alone Jed and the staff went into an empty
room nearby. They saw that the President was feeling much better then
before. Another staffer came in and left three documents on the desk.

"Are they it?" POTUS asked.

"Yes, Mr. President. You just have to sign them," Toby said.

Jed signed the documents and the aides left to deliver them. POTUS then
began to walk out.

"Where are you going Mr. President?" Leo asked.

"To inform the press of Zoey and let them know my reaction to the Vice
President's actions," Jed said.

"CJ can handle it," Sam said.

"I want to do it. I am the president after all," Jed said.

"Yes, Mr. President," the entire staff said at once.

The President, followed by the Secret Service, walked to the press briefing
area. CJ was there about to introduce the doctors. She looked at the
President.

"CJ, good evening ladies and gentlemen. I just wanted to let you all that
my daughter Zoey has just woken up and is doing very well. Details about
what happened to her will come from her excellent doctors. I just wanted
to thank them for their excellent work and thank the American people for
there prayers and best wishes," the President said.

"DO YOU HAVE ANY REACTION TO THE VICE PRESIDENT AND CABINET'S ACTIONS?"
NBC asked.

The president smiled.

"During times of great crisis the Vice President and the cabinet have to
perform their duties. I can't argue with their rights to make this
decision," Jed said.

"BUT-" ABC said.

"But Sam. They must understand that the responsibility that they have is a
great one, and shouldn't be used except in an extreme emergency. I can
understand them doing this while I am in shock over my daughter. But I
believe that it was an incorrect decision. I have just sent to the Speaker
and President Pro-Tem a document informing them that no such disability
exists and that I can perform my duties," the President said.

The reporters looked at each other in shock. They could smell the growing
Constitutional crisis.

"Do you expect the Vice President and the Cabinet to continue this fight?"
Danny asked

The President smiled.

"I expect them to follow the Constitution. That was the oath that we all
took," the President said.

"And if they don't?" CNN asked.

"I expect that they will understand the reality. Now if you would excuse
me I would like to rejoin my family. I know that this hospital has a
Presidential suite that would allow me to perform my duties. So thank you
ladies and gentlemen and god bless America," the President said before
leaving.
