To Be or Not To Be

Once Zoey was no longer in Josh's presence, she quickly fled back to her dorm
room and collapsed into her bed. It was at times like this when she wished
she had a roommate in which she could initiate conversation and forget all
about what she was thinking of. But, a roommate is a security risk.
Zoey sighed a heavy sigh and closed her eyes as tears assaulted her cheeks.
And like always, just as she began to cry, she had company.
Charlie, after being told by Jed what had happened, quickly flew to be by her
side. Entering her room without a knock, he moved over to her bed and laid
down with her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her tight.

"Jed," Abbey said, as she moved pillows around on her bed.
"Yeah?" Jed looked over to his wife and smiled as she did her nightly routine
of fussing over all of her pillows until she had them exactly right.
"How do you think she took it? I mean. . ."
"I know what you mean," Jed said after Abbey trailed off. "And I think it
might be just a little bit too early to tell how she's dealing with it."
"But Elizabeth and Vikki-"
Jed cut Abbey off. "This is Zoey. Not Elizabeth or Vikki. Zoey will handle
it her way, just as they handled it their way."
"Yeah, I know," Abbey sighed, climbing into bed. "I'm just worried about her.
I haven't seen her since we told her the truth."
"Well. . . Charlie's with her. . ." Jed replied.
"Jed?"
"Yes?"
"Do you realize what you just said?"
"Yes I do."
Abbey snuggled into her husband's side. "You've come a very long way, Jed
Bartlet."
"Not really," Jed replied. "Leo assured me that Congress would never approve
the funds needed to build me that dungeon."
Abbey chuckled, knowing that Jed's reason for saying what he said was for
those exact results. "I love you, Josiah."
"Love you too, Abigail," Jed leaned over Abbey and kissed her lightly on the
lips.
Abbey pulled away, "You can do better than that."
"Well, I could. . ." Jed smirked as he turned the lights off.
